| Know that the spiritual path is about surrender. Surrender to your intuitive self. Surrender to a more natural way of singing and living. Don't force anything. Effort is required only when we think we ought to do something. It is then that we strive. Striving in life and in singing makes for unhappiness and discomfort. In singing it tenses muscles and shortens breath. It works against our natural inclinations and responses. It separates us from that gentle stirring that infuses us and our voice with energy and individuality, excitement and emotion, beauty and power. |
